GeoCoding : Address every corner of the world with only 3 letter

Imagine you are in a book fare and it organise in 3 by 3 meter air conditioned dom.At the entry of the book fare, you will get a map of all the stoles then also many of us will get confused to find the favourite publication stole in the book fare right?

Now if you don’t have any map or any address of the particular publication stole address, then even if you have contact number of that stole handler, you will confused and it will be very difficult to find the address of that particular book stole. Google is also providing us the live location service but it is not permanent address of the particular place but we all are agree on that google live location sometimes it works exactly and reach us at the pointing place but sometimes it is very haptic to reach at the location.

We use longitude and latitude to inform anyone the exact location of the particular location. It also have some limitations like when we mention 36.7783° N, 119.4179° W then it will point out to some location in california and it also may be vary about 10 meters from the particular place. In Emergencies when every single second is important, how can you inform anyone the exact and proper location where are you or where someone should come to help?

Once in a time some friends go out for tracking in a forest, England and they forgotten the way in the forest. they called emergency service of the forest and they were asked to install an application in their mobile phone and they noticed that forest is divided into 3 by 3 square boxes. Every square boxes have unique 3 word address. They checked in which square they were exactly and informed emergency team and rescued from the forest. Google Maps can also be used at this time but you should have good internet connection to share your location.

Put asides Emergencies but there are some places in the world where exact postal service is not available. Not only emergencies but transport , logistics etc services can also take advantage of the exact address. Then “GEOCODING” comes in a picture where mission is to assign permanent address to each & every place in the world.

What is Google Plus Codes?

Google has added plus code in its mapping service.(https://plus.codes).There are some codes so that we can remember longitude and latitude of the particular place.You can Google Maps Application in your phone and double drop the pin at your home then double tap on that place, you will get longitude and latitude of your home. This plus code is also not easy to remember. Plus Codes has also some limitations. Many countries have not been assigned these plus codes. Plus code is contains of 6 to 10 letter & numbers area code, city code, state code and last but not the least country code. Area code covers approximately 100 x 10 km area. Last six characters displays 14 x 14 meter area. Google ensured that this location should be exact by 3 x 3 meters. Plus codes is used in navigation and navigation related applications. What3words is a geocode system for the communication of locations with a resolution of three metres. What3words encodes geographic coordinates into three dictionary words; the encoding is permanently fixed. For example, the omphalos of Delphi, believed by the ancient Greeks to be the centre of the world, is located with ///spooky.solemn.huggers. What3words differs from most other location encoding systems in that it displays three words rather than long strings of numbers or letters.

What3words has a website, apps for iOS and Android, and an API that enables bidirectional conversion between what3words address and latitude/longitude coordinates. As the system relies on a fixed algorithm rather than a large database of every location on earth, it works on devices with limited storage and no Internet connection.

According to the company its revenue comes from charging businesses for high-volume use of the API that converts between 3 words and coordinates; services for other users are free of charge.

Algorithm & Idea behind What3words

BY dividing every part of the world by 3 x 3 meter squares, the accuracy of the location will be more effective. There will be 57 trillion square boxes compare to the area of the earth. Oxford has 1,71,476 words in its dictionary & by removing hyphen words, swearing words, similar pronunciation words then there will remain 40,000 words. We make 3 words pair of these words then there will be 64 trillion three words pairs. There may be common pronunciation words. Algorithm make sure that it should be assigned away from each other locations.

What3words are easy as compare to Google Plus Codes.Google Plus code has been made to Open sourced so that anyone can develop more into that technology.Many people used to use what3words in their visiting card, business card, home address etc. Even many automobile companies are also using what3words technology.
